Beginning January 1st, 2011, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) began the next phase in the life of the renowned ENERGY STAR Program by beginning a major transformation in approach where all ENERGY STAR-qualified products must have the testing carried out at laboratories that are officially recognized by the EPA and certified by EPA-recognized Certification Bodies. In April 2011, TÜV SÜD PSB Pte Ltd of Singapore was officially recognized by EPA (lab ID 1108606) to test a wide range of products for the ENERGY STAR Program covering:

·         Set-top and Cable Boxes

·         Telephony

·         Televisions

·         Computers

·         Displays

·         Imaging Equipment

·         Decorative Light Strings

·         Luminaires

·         Lamps

1.        Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFL's)

2.        Integral LED Lamps

Under this recognition, TÜV SÜD PSB Pte Ltd is able to qualify and verify that products meet ENERGY STAR requirements. With technical certifiers based in Asia, TÜV SÜD can offer local support and rapid approvals to ENERGY STAR requirements. In the future, TÜV SÜD will expand its accredited scope and increase its capacity to accommodate the increased demands for ENERGY STAR. TÜV SÜD strongly supports the EPA ENERGY STAR initiative (http://www.energystar.gov).

As one of the world's leading testing and certification organizations, TÜV SÜD is a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL), and is a Telecommunications Certification Body (TCB) accredited by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for EMC services. With the new EPA recognition, TÜV SÜD will provide more package services for the clients in Asia who sell products in the U.S. With our presence in Asia and the U.S., we can provide package services of initial testing and certification to Energy STAR, NRTL, and FCC for products manufactured in China, and verification sampling and testing from the U.S.
