ATEX These requirements, which are found within two related European directives: ATEX 94/9/EC and 1999/92/EC, both become mandatory on July 1, 2003. The first regulates equipment manufacturers, and the second regulates workplace owners. Note, as of July 1, 2003, ATEX 94/9/EC replaces current directives 76/117/EEC, 79/196/EEC and 82/130/EEC. Equipment manufacturers placing equipment intended for potentially explosive atmospheres must demonstrate that their equipment conforms to Directive 94/9/EC and must bear the CE Marking after July 1, 2003. Certificates of conformity under the old explosive atmosphere directives will cease to be valid. TÜV experts can assist manufactures
in classifying their products to zone and classification requirements
found within the directive and, as a EU Competent Body, validate the products
design. To learn more about ATEX for non electrical apparatus and equipment, join us for an online webinars. For more information, contact us. |
