Environmental
Simulation
Numerous hours have been invested in designing and manufacturing your
electronic equipment, but can it stand up to the elements? At TÜV
Product Service, we provide environmental simulation testing that demonstrates
your product's ability to survive and operate in the environmental extremes
of temperature, humidity, vibration, shock, sun, fungus, and more.
TÜV provides environmental testing and certification for:
- RTCA/DO-160
- MIL-STD-810
- EUROCAE/ED-14
- Accelerated Life Testing
Through environmental testing, you are ensured
your equipment operates without interruption, failure, or malfunction,
when subjected to environmental forces.
RTCA/DO-160 and EUROCAE/ED-14
RTCA/DO-160 is published by RTCA, Inc., a global organization comprised
of industry and government representatives which develop industry standards
to assure the safety and reliability of all Aviation Electronics equipment
(Avionics). Manufacturers of Commercial Avionics equipment selling their
products in the United States, Europe, and around the globe must meet
RTCA requirements, including RTCA/DO-160. The European Organization for
Civil Aviation Electronics (EUROCAE) works jointly with RTCA in the development
of avionics standards, and publishes its own, identical document known
as EUROCAE/ED-14.
TÜV Product Service is a member of RTCA and participates in the development
and ongoing change of this standard.
MIL-STD-810
MIL-STD-810 specifies the requirements and test procedures for equipment
that must survive and operate when exposed to the extreme effects of the
physical environment. Testing includes temperature, humidity, vibration,
shock, sun, fungus, etc.
Accelerated Life Testing:
HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing) is an accelerated testing procedure
that tests your product's overall durability and dependability. HALT also
provides insight into your product's structural integrity and highlights
potential design flaws before the product is mass-produced and marketed.
This enables your company to make a durable product that is second to
none. In testing, your product is subjected to different levels of applied
temperature (hot and cold) and multi-access vibrations. Overall your product
can be tested for years of dependable service within days.
